Duval writes that it is in the productive decade between 1920 and 1930 that the technical aesthetic resources possessed by Harris are most clearly apparent and notes the artist’s “high-keyed panoramas of Algoma” as well as Harris’ depiction of “the richly tangled forests of Algoma”, motifs which are evident in this canvas.
